Max Voltz is a photographer, musician, and creative director based in Chicago, Illinois. Born in 2003 in Evanston, Illinois, he began studying music in 2011 and photography in 2017. He graduated from DePaul University in 2025, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and a minor in Music Recording.
Max’s primary independent artistic practice combines photographs and original music to create immersive and emotional experiences. His projects, A Winter Morning and ANOTHER TIME were selected for DePaul's 2025 Juried Student Exhibition at the Richardson Art Gallery and the 2025 Senior Capstone Exhibition at the DePaul Art Museum, respectively.
In addition to these photo-music combinations, Max also practices traditional photography on its own. On his own time, he enjoys creating street and urban landscape images, while also practicing portraits and candid event photos as a freelancer. His landscape photograph of mountains and the night sky in St. Lucia, titled Out There, was selected for the DePaul Artist Collective 2025 Juried Exhibition at the Richardson Art Gallery.
Alongside his personal and freelance work, Max is also a co-founder and creative director of LIMELITE, a multimedia artist collective. At LIMELITE, Max helps bring fictional worlds to life through photography and music. In addition to creating artwork with the collective, Max also shoots and edits videos and designs unique webpages for each project.
